I found this information among my papers from school and thought you would get a kick of the rules for our class trip to Williamsburg in 1958.  My, how times have changed, I don’t think anyone would follow them now. What do you think???

                  FIELD TRIP RULES

1.      Only Quiet talking will be permitted on the bus.

There can be no standing or changing of seats.

during bus ride.  (Those who can not comply with

this rule will remain on the school bus at each

point of interest.)

2.      Each pupil will remain with his group throughout

the trip and obey his assigned leader.

 3. Listen attentively to the guides with ears only.

Ask questions only after being recognized.

 4. Treat all places to be visited with proper respect

for age.  Remember that these historic places are

much older than your grandparents whom you all

 honor.

 5. Finally, bear in mind that you are the representatives

of Flint Hill School whose reputation can be no

 better than your behavior.

                DORMITORY RULES

1.      Use all furniture in the rooms as it is intended

to be used or as the way you are expected to use

it in your own home.

2.      Comic books will be permitted in the rooms.

3.      Lights out at 10:30 p.m.

4.      Arise at 7:00 a.m. --- Breakfast at eight.

5.      Hang up clothing in proper place.

6.      Your room is to be used primarily for sleeping.

7.      Stay in your own rooms when assigned to be there.

8.      Leave rooms (with the exception of a “slept-in”

bed) just as you found it.

9.      Walk quietly in the building—boys remove hats—

no whistling or loud talking will be permitted.
